Solemn Requiem Mass for Exc.mo Sr Don Carlos Abella y Ramallo, Ambassador of Spain, Gentleman of His Holiness, Grand Chancellor and Bailiff Grand Cross of Justice with Collar of our Order, Knight of the Order of San Gennaro

His Eminence Cardinal Rouco Varela, Archbishop of Madrid, assisted by His Eminence Cardinal Estepa, both of them Bailiffs Grand Cross of Justice of the Constantinian Order, presided at a solemn Requiem Mass for Exc.mo Sr Don Carlos Abella y Ramallo, Ambassador of Spain, Gentleman of His Holiness, Grand Chancellor and Bailiff Grand Cross of Justice with Collar of our Order, Knight of the Order of San Gennaro, Grand Cross of the Royal Order of Isabella the Catholic, Grand Cross of the Order of Pius IX, etc, in the Castrense Cathedral of the Military Archdiocese and the four Military Orders, at 8.00 pm on 12 February. Their Royal Highnesses the Infante Don Carlos, the Duchess of Calabria, the Duke and Duchess of Noto, the Duke of Capua and Princesse Doña Cristina de Borbón-Dos Sicilias, accompanied by her husband Exc.mo Sr Don Pedro López-Quesada, attended.
The family and mourners were led by Doña Pilar de Arestegui de Abella, widow, and other members of the family, along with senior officers of the Constantinian Order including the Vice-Grand Prefect, the Duke of Huescar, the Grand Treasurer, Baron Emmanuele Emanuele, the Vice-Grand Chancellor, Guy Stair Sainty, the President of the Royal Commission of the Spain, the Duke of Hornachuelos, and the Vice-Grand Treasurer Don Florencio Alvárez-Labrador.
The Foreign Ministry was represented by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other senior members of the Spanish diplomatic service.
