The Most Reverend Monsignor Giovanni Scanavino, O.S.A, Bishop of Orvieto-Todi

The Most Reverend Monsignor Giovanni Scanavino, O.S.A, Bishop of Orvieto-Todi, has been appointed Grand Cross of Merit.

Mons. Giovanni Scanavino, O.S.A., was born in Saint Stefano Belbo, province of Alba, Diocese of Dawn, on 6 December 1939.

He entered in the Augustinian Seminary of Loano in 1950. He earned a degree in Theology at the Lateran University in Rome.

He was ordered to priesthood on 14 March 1964.

From 1967 until today he has occupied important offices in the Augustinian Order. From 2000 he is the Prior Provincial of the Italian Province of that Order.

His Excellency was appointed Bishop of Orvieto-Todion November 8, 2003.
