ST. GEORGE'S DAY ANNUAL MASS, 26TH APRIL 1997

On April 26, 1997, His Eminence Antonio, Cardinal Innocenti, celebrated the Saint George's Day Mass in the historic Basilica of Santa Croce.

The Grand Master was represented by H.E. the President of the Italian Commission, Count Capasso Torre. Among those who also attended were H.E don Carlos Abella, Spanish Ambassador to the Holy See (accompanied by Sra Abella), the Spanish Ambassador to the Quirinale, H.E. don Juan Prat (accompanied by Sra Prat) and Minister-Plenipotenitary Don José Luis Los Arcos y Galbete, Spanish Consul-General in Naples, attended. The Knights and dames were led by H.E. Count Vincenzo Capasso Torre, Count of the Pástene, President of the Italian Commission,accompanied by Countess Capasso, with other members of the Deputation including Nobile Avvocato Giorgio Montini (and Sra Montini), Nobile Avvocato Giorgio Angelozzi Gariboldi, these both Gentlemen of His Holiness, Count Alfonso Pucci Boncambj della Genga de Domo Alberini, and Marchese Robert Dentice di Accadia (and Marchesa Dentice).

The On. Domenico Fisichella, vice-President of the Italian Senate, and the Ambassadors of Honduras, Slovenia, and Croatia to the Holy See also attended, as did Archbishop and Apostolic Nuncio Angelo Palmas. Ambassador Mario Fortini (accompanied by Sra Fortini) represented the Royal House of Savoy and the Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus. Other members present included Count Agostino Borromeo, Gentleman of His Holiness (also representing the Order of the Holy Sepulcher) and Countess Borromeo, Marchese Cosimo Dragonetti di Torres, Count and Countess Luciano Valentini di Laviano, and many other Knights and Dames.
